Disney, You Done Good

Our first review for Nerd Corner is for Solo: A Star Wars Story! Check it out! – C

I will preface this review by revealing this; every single day I stayed home sick from school as a child, I watched the TRUE ORIGINAL trilogy on VHS (before CGI was added). I would be surrounded by my figurines and other Star Wars toys.

Disney definitely has put a different feel to the newly released movies. More comedy has been added, but I’m able to look past it when it feels forced. I went into Solo with low expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised (because it was better than expected, or actually good? I don’t know yet)! Even at a 2hr and 14min run time, it kept me engaged the whole time.

Without getting into too much detail, I wish they elaborated more on the first part of the film. But, that would either run it longer or force them to remove other content. The love story embedded within the film wasn’t overbearing. I was happy with it, and EXTREMELY interested in where it leads with who pops up at the end (Oh Em Geeeeee). The one thing I had an issue with was the fembot. This shouldn’t be a spoiler for you and you’ll see what I mean. Just keep it out of Star Wars, don’t politicize it!

Disney, you done good kid. Now give me Fett. – Evan P.

Evan is married to Martha, and you can read her piece if you click on her link! They have an adorable little girl and are nomadic Army people. Evan has Facebook and Instagram, but no lurks allowed! His favorite food is definitely steak, he thinks cats are completely useless, and prefers a nice 70degree day.
